Asher’s Skateboard Inspired Bar Mitzvah

It’s the one year anniversary of Asher’s skateboard inspired Bar Mitzvah and we are so excited to share the details with you!

blog 1

We switched up the vibe at Baltaire in Los Angeles, by eliminating traditional dining tables, incorporating custom-designed graffiti walls, and adding unique floral pieces with accents of skateboarding and even skateboards themselves!

To kick off the party and set the tone for the milestone celebration, we cleared space so Asher could skate in for his grand entrance! What a start, right?

With the dance floor and DJ booth as the center of the room, we created a custom dance floor that featured Asher’s name in flames, mimicking the iconic Thrasher logo. As a backdrop for the DJ booth, Asher’s name was written in graffiti adding to the edgy element. Other emblems on the DJ booth included stickers from his favorite skateboard brands.

Surrounding the dance floor, high and low cocktail rounds were draped in a charcoal velvet linen. For centerpieces, we placed accents of roses and tulips in individual miniature clear vases, illuminated by candles and accented by skateboard wheels. Lounges were created along the perimeter of the restaurant and placed strategically against the uniquely designed graffiti walls.

The four-sided bar was dressed with a prominent floral presence including towering elevated designs of garden roses, tulips, calla lilies, and orchids. Our mixologists served fun specialty drinks such as “Skater Boy”, “Supreme Skinny Spicy Margarita” and “Method Martinis”.

Along with the DJ and other fab live entertainment, other activities included custom-designed sweatpants and skateboards, interactive photo-ops and cold rolled ice cream.

Asher’s Bar Mitzvah was such an edgy and fun celebration to design. We are so lucky and honored to have brought his vision to life!

Dream Desert Wedding

When our wonderful longtime clients came to us with the idea of having their dream desert wedding, we were overjoyed and couldn’t wait to make their dreams a reality.

instagram 2

We immediately put together some of the best professionals in the industry to assist in designing and executing our client’s vision. We were so lucky to build our dream team with; Edgar Zamora and Angela Murelli from Revelry Event Designers, Nancy Kaye from Mark’s Garden, Curt Stahl from Images by Lighting, Gus Galanis from Bright Event Rentals and David Meek from CBC Technical.

Incorporating the groom’s modern aesthetic with the bride’s love of all things feminine, we used vision boards, drawings, renderings, and mock-ups to create the overall look and feel of the event.

Not only were we lucky enough to collaborate with the best designers, but we were honored to have some of the best chefs and teams from the top restaurants in Los Angeles; sushi from Nobu, hors d’oeuvres and desserts from Chinois on Main and plated three-course dinner from Giorgio Baldi.

Drawing on the incredible mountain views as our backdrop, we worked with Nancy and her team to design the most unique and impressive custom-built chuppah in shades of soft blush, ivory, and white. The over 100-foot candlelit aisle leading to the chuppah was equally as dramatic.

After the ceremony, the guests were escorted down a long pathway to the outdoor cocktail hour at our client’s private residence. There, they enjoyed live music, drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres while relaxing in cozy cabanas and lounge furniture groupings. The incredible colors of the sunset served as a perfect backdrop to this beautiful setting.

As cocktail hour came to a close, guests were invited into the wedding reception, which took place in a custom-built glass structure. We worked closely with Edgar and Angela from Revelry and Gus from Bright to design the most impressive, elegant and modern environment. From the tufted paneled walls, custom floral stage backdrop, patterned dance floor, uniquely designed ceiling treatment, and four-sided LED-lit bar, the reception was a show-stopper.

Guests were seated at two types of rectilinear tables; square tables with linen and mirrored tops and custom white lacquer tables on gold bases. All tables were embellished with low mono botanical florals along with taper, pillar and votive candles that illuminated the room. Scalloped chargers, gold flatware, crystal glassware, gold-embroidered napkins and custom menus topped with nosegays of ivory spray roses completed the look.

Strategically placed behind the sweetheart table, The Butter End Cakery designed a fabulous six-tiered wedding cake with cascading handmade sugar peonies. This was placed atop a square lacquer table dressed with lush pave roses. This exquisite display was a focal point of the room.

JB Project from West Coast Music kicked off the night with amazing dance music, setting the tone for the evening. Later, after our cake cutting, the room went dark and guests were treated to a surprise neon dance show by Zen Arts. At the end of the performance, the room was transformed into an after-party complete with LED screens and black lights. Paying homage to Coachella Valley’s Neon Festival, DJ Politik took the stage and kept guests dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

It took ten days to build this amazing oasis from the ground up. We are humbled and grateful for the tireless effort our team of over 200 put into this incredible celebration. We are so grateful to Brian and Allison Callaway from Callaway Gable and Marc Dahm from Bluecat International for capturing this one of a kind evening so incredibly. We are honored by our beautiful bride Samantha (who looked stunning in her Lela Rose gown), her handsome groom Matt (in his Tom Ford tux) and their families allowed us to be a part of this timeless celebration.

Dream Desert Wedding Featured in Inside Weddings

The dream desert wedding featuring the chuppah shared around the world now graces the pages of Inside Weddings and we are elated!

“When it came to organizing the big day, Matthew stayed involved, as did both of their families. “Plus, nothing was possible without our wedding planner Alyson Fox [of Levine Fox Events],” adds the bride.

The La Quinta residence owned by the parents of the groom made for a picturesque setting and informed the look of the fête. “The house is modern with clean lines, huge glass windows, and a white, neutral palette with pops of color. Matt had always dreamed of a glass-like tent, which fit the vision, so we used that as inspiration as well,” Samantha illustrates. A large structure created by Revelry Event Designers was wrapped in a lush serpentine of florals and greenery for the striking chuppah. The couple exchanged vows on an elevated stage with a stunning vista of trees and mountains behind them. Each bridesmaid clutched a different bouquet featuring single-variety compositions of either roses, tulips, lilacs, ranunculuses, miniature calla lilies, spray roses, or freesias. The bride was wonderfully surprised by her florist who successfully secured peonies in order to make her dream bridal bouquet, allowing Samantha to carry her favorite flower on the big day.

The elegant and modern aesthetic continued to the cocktail hour, with draped pergolas around the pool. As the sun began to set, guests moved into the reception tent, which showcased a unique lighting installation throughout the ceiling overhead. Accents of gold and pink popped against the mostly white color palette for an elevated look. Lucite elements – also included in the cake – kept the design contemporary.

In lieu of a first dance, the live band got the celebration started right away, followed by an after-party inspired by the Neon Carnival at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Bright colors, LED lights, and a popular DJ kept revelers dancing until 2 am. Reflects Samantha, “I couldn’t stop smiling, and I never wanted the entire weekend to end.” Emily Lasnier via Inside Weddings

Alana’s LA LA Land Bat Mitzvah

We were so honored to design and produce Alana’s La La Land Inspired Bat Mitzvah. Being our clients for over 16 years, we were lucky to have planned Alana’s parent’s wedding, as well as her brother’s bar mitzvah, and other meaningful family events. Watching Alana grow into such a beautiful and sweet young lady over the years made “Alana Land” an extra special celebration not only for the guests but for us as well!

The Kiddush Luncheon was held on the patio of the lovely Bistro Garden! With sky lighting and indoor lush greenery, it was the perfect setting for this lovely celebration. Round tables were draped in apricot linen with feminine floral organza overlays. Each place setting featured a custom designed menu and napkin rings, which displayed our La La Land inspired logo. Each guest also received customized journals from Pop & Suki, black for men, blush for ladies, with their names applied as place holders. The centerpieces were beautiful blooms of cream, blush, pale tangerine with lush greens. Representing our bat mitzvah girl’s love of dance, music, theater and more, each table held elements from that particular theme and how it related to Alana. We loved collaborating with Alana and her family on this unique idea!

The next evening, Alana’s friends, along with her nearest and dearest family, were invited to There-There Gallery to celebrate and dance the night away. As guests stepped out of their cars, they were invited to walk the “blue carpet” and take photos in front of our very own “Alana-land” step and repeat. As guests entered the party they were surrounded by fabulous lighting and greeted with bold wall decor. The phrases, “City of Stars” and other quotes from the movie such as “People love what other people are passionate about,” were strategically placed around the room.

A collection of black mirrored coffee tables and royal blue lounge furniture from Revelry Event Design filled the exterior space and framed the dancefloor. Other details such as custom throw pillows with fun phrases such as “Alana’s Jazz Club” and “Another Day of Sun” were placed throughout the lounge. Nancy Kaye of Mark’s Garden provided floral touches of yellow tulips, garden roses, and greenery.

Along with dancing to the latest hot tunes from the DJ on a star gobo dance floor, guests enjoyed a plethora of activities; shooting hoops, foosball, and skeeball, custom designed jewelry, sports hats customized with each guests’ name, more custom & fabulous items from Pop & Suki as well as a fun & unique photo op.

Guests were also treated to an old fashioned soda bar, delicious hors d’oeuvres and buffet dinner from The Kitchen for Exploring Foods. For dessert, guests enjoyed many treats including hot churros with chocolate dipping sauce and a sweet crêpe station!

We loved planning and designing these monumental events for the birthday girl and her closest family and friends! We could not have brought this celebration to life without our amazing team of vendors! Special thank you to Elizabeth Solano for capturing the day!

Surprise 50th Birthday Celebration

What’s better than a milestone birthday? A surprise birthday party, of course! Surrounded by his loved ones, Mike was given the surprise of his life for his big 5-0, and we had the honor of strategizing, planning, and designing this bash along with his fabulous wife.

The party kicked off with Mike’s guests energetically exclaiming, “SURPRISE!” while hiding behind masks of the guest of honor’s face. The look on Mike’s face said it all, what a joyous occasion!

The sleek color scheme was chosen to match the milestone celebration: silver, grey and white with hints of gold. We filled the room with long, rectangular dining tables draped in grey velvet linens with Revelry’s silver seating to match. Each place setting consisted of patterned marble china, with monogrammed custom menus in silver and gold placed on top. The unique gold rimmed, white glassware added the perfect touch. The table was filled with white and ivory colored blooms such as tulips, calla lilies, orchids, dahlias, and roses. To elevate the table design, we included custom built raised transparent centerpieces that held candles which added a warm glow as the sun went down.

Following dinner, guests were invited to join Mike on the dance floor, relax in the cigar lounge on the terrace, lounge and indulge in the multitude of desserts and late night snacks! As fun additions, we distributed novelty trucker hats that read, “50” and “Shut the Front Door”, Mike’s favorite quote. Our Bubble Girls, dispensing bubbles while dancing through the crowd in fun shimmering bikinis energetically led Mike to his incredible four-tiered cake by The Butterend and sparklers shooting out of the top!

This truly was an amazing celebration. Thank you to our entire creative team for helping bring this extravaganza to life! Happy Birthday, Mike!

Jessica + Bill Featured on Inside Weddings

With summer being the norm, it was thrilling to plan and design Jessica and Bill’s winter Napa wedding! Keep reading, you may be inspired to rethink your summer wedding.

“With January chilling the air, the stage was set for enjoying the warmth of family and friends celebrating the union of two souls. Hot cider with cinnamon-stick garnish greeted guests’ arrival to the ceremony. Vaulted white ceilings towered above adornments of ivory, champagne, cream, and silver. Arrangements of branches intertwined with white roses and draped with strings of crystal flanked a custom runner infused with speckles of glitter that reflected light from glowing candles. Delighted with the outcome, Jessica says, “It was different from anything we have ever seen.”

The stems of Jessica’s bouquet of roses, orchids, and crystal-dotted stephanotis blossoms were wrapped in white velvet held with a crystal brooch. Her maid of honor clutched flowers bound in cool gray velvet.

The Jewish ceremony was performed by a close family friend. After Bill and Jessica were pronounced and receded down the aisle, guests showered the couple with cones full of “snowflakes” that had been hung on every chair. Jewish customs and family were honored throughout the reception as Jessica’s brother in law blessed the challah, and Bill’s cousin blessed the wine. Guests lined up to make loving speeches as a string quartet played renditions of upbeat contemporary songs.

Long rectangle tables filled the dining room, illuminated by the glow from a roaring stone fireplace. Snowy centerpieces composed of roses, tulips, and hydrangeas matched the ceremony arrangements and were accented by mercury-glass candleholders and silver chargers.” – via Inside Weddings

Isabel Max Baby Naming

We loved planning and designing baby Isabel Max’s blush baby naming at the Hillcrest Country Club! Keep reading for all of the adorable details.

Guests entered the room to find round tables in blush linen, some draped using feminine overlays with textured rosettes. Our centerpieces were designed of pink garden roses, cream spray roses, and greenery in silver leaf vases and containers. In the center of the room, a grand silver urn was filled with blush and pink roses, hydrangea, spray roses, lush greenery, and cherry blossoms.

Always thinking of our littlest guests, we included activities such as face painting, balloon designing, reading, and coloring! The table featured a few of our favorite classic childhood books and coloring pages to decorate with. Each seat included a custom designed coloring placemat with an abundance of crayons.

To highlight our guest of honor, we featured the newborn’s name in pink lettering which we encased with a light pink backdrop and brushed gold frame. Surrounding the display were elegant flowers that were brushed in gold and rose gold along with additional flowers from the centerpiece.

Thank you to Justine Ungaro for capturing the blush elegance of baby Isabel Max’s special day!

Noa’s Adorable Baby Naming

We are so excited to share details from little Noa Juliette’s baby naming! Held at Hillcrest Country Club, in Los Angeles, this baby naming was truly fit for a princess!

revelry, revelry event design, country club, country club events, levine fox, levine fox events, wedding planner, event planner, baby naming, los angels event planner

We filled the room with round tables draped in blush linen with an alternating overlay of textured floral rosettes. Each table featured centerpieces of garden roses, dahlias, viburnum and other fresh textured greens designed in a light pink square container with accents of vintage silver and china teapots. The children’s tables aptly included many children’s classic favorites like “the hungry caterpillar”, crayons placed in antique teacups and custom coloring book designed just for baby Noa.

Always wanting to cater to guests with a sweet tooth, we included a dessert bar with a selection of scrumptious donuts: panda shapes, oreo toppings, and of course, a donut in the shape of an ‘N’. The table also included an abundance of gourmet popcorn in many flavours, chocolate covered strawberries, and other sweet treats!

In the center of the room, we placed a glowing marquee which featured Noa’s name with a pink background and gold frame. Beneath her name was a blush tufted wall which held our favorite donuts with an array of flavors and colors. Standing on either side tucked into alcoves were lush displays of floral and greenery.

Special thank you to Elizabeth Solano for these photos that we will forever cherish!
